On 22 December the Acting Director Eng Guled Ahmed Yusuf and the EUCAP Somalia Project Manager Mr Marco Hekkens met with HE President Said Abdullahi Mohamed (Deni) and the Deputy Director-General Abdiweli Ali Abdulle. The President was apprised of the progress of the JMICC and the intentions for 2020. Priorities for 2020 are inter alia the Establishment Act for the JMICC; the completion of inter-connected Coastal Reporting Nodes along the Puntland coast; initiate planning for the future Situation Centre and increase connectivity with regional Maritime Situation Awareness and Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres.

A subsequent detailed briefing for the President and stakeholder Ministers to define the plan of action is planned for early January 2020.
