The JMICC is a new Puntland Government Agency established to improve the sharing and utilisation of information to counter maritime crimes





In a nutshell
Vision
To evolve into a globally connected Puntland Situation Centre providing high-grade information and advice to influence Maritime Governance policy development; and support Government decision making processes during incidents, accidents, disasters and crisis management.
Embrace comprehensive inter-agency cooperation to counter future regional risks and threats
Mission
The JMICC will:
• provide timely and factual information to Government Institutions and Agencies;
• build a network of Somali and External Entities to support research, analysis and dissemination of accurate information;
• monitor local, regional and international news and provide ‘alerts’ when deemed necessary, In order to support the information requirements of all beneficiaries necessary to plan and conduct their tasks in a safe and expedient manner, within the Rule of Law
