A very interesting article was published by Mr Robert McCabe titled “Lift for maritime sector in Kenya and Djibouti after fall in piracy”. The article emphasises the important relationship between security (and maritime security) and development as a critical requirement to fully exploit the enormous potential of the “Blue Economy” for the Puntland State of Somalia. It was for this reason that Project JMICC was proposed to the Puntland Government in October 2016; and launched early 2017.
