Remote Operational Training Support
The Coastal Reporting Nodes (CRN) along the coast of Puntland State of Somalia are the ‘eyes’ and ‘ears’ of the JMICC in Garowe. Therefore, it is important for the JMICC staff to ensure that the personnel working in these CRNs (and other individual Point of Contact’s in the regions) know how the communicate and pass information in a structured, rapid manner between the CRNs and the JMICC.
In order to achieve this, the JMICC Staff, especially the ICT and Watchkeeper Sections will develop training guidance and operational support for the personnel of the Coastal Reporting Nodes in Puntland.
The objective is to ensure that the staff working in the Coastal Reporting Nodes understand:
- How to use the IT equipment; including the risks of ‘internet based’ threats to the system through viruses, phishing and other malicious ways.
- How to use the Daily Situation Report format.
- Understand the Information Requirements of the JMICC; and how to collect this information.
- How to pass urgent information when there is no internet.
